Hue - charm of an old imperial city - Hue was the capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. The last imperial dynasty of the Nguyen had its seat here during this time. Numerous pagodas and burial grounds from the imperial era are well worth seeing, and the citadel of the Forbidden City was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.
